You’re enjoying a hot pizza from time to time? Good, because now it will get really hot in here. We’d like to show you how to create your own LowCarb Pizza with a ton of healthy vegetables. And the best: The pizza crust is made out of tuna (but it doesn’t taste that fishy) – so you get a ton of protein, too.

  • Preperation Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking/Baking Time: 15 minutes
  • Ready in: 20-25 minutes

Recipe: Low Carb Pizza with Tuna Base, Asparagus & Habaneros

Ingredients (1 pizza)

  • 2 cans of tuna (in brine/water)
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 habanero chilli
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • 60 grams of lowfat cheese (grated)
  • 100 grams tomatoe concentrate
  • Asparagus (quantity as you like)

Cooking Directions

  1. Let’s start with draining the tuna.
  2. Put the drained tuna into a bowl and add the egg. Mix it well – this will be the pizza base.
  3. Take a baking tray, put some baking paper onto it and pour the tuna-egg base onto it. Mold it in a round shape.
  4. Add some condiments, salt, pepper and oregano as you like.
  5. It’s time to shove the base into the oven. Bake it at 180 °C (356 °F) until the base gets a healthy brown-golden color.
  6. Take the tuna-egg base out of the oven once it is done and start adding the tomatoe concentrate and – of course – the listed ingredients (tomatoes, chilli, onion, cheese and asparagus – or be creative and add your own topping ideas)
  7. Shove it back into the oven and cook the whole thing until it is well done.
  8. Enjoy your LowCarb Pizza with Tuna Base, Asparagus and Habaneros.

Notes & Recommendations

  • Tip 1: You can vary the type of cheese you use for this recipe to add different flavours and textures to your LowCarb Pizza (e.g. instead of gouda you can take mozzarella or cheddar cheese)
  • Tip 2: Experiment with the vegetables. Add some broccoli, cauliflower, paprika, champignions or a courgette to your LowCarb Pizza
  • Tip 3: Not satisfied with the amount of protein? Add some meat or fowl to go with the LowCarb Pizza!
