You’re looking for a healthy, delicious yet protein-rich breakfast meal. You don’t want to eat any porridge or one of your usual meals of the day, so why not give it a try with his nutritious egg recipe: A Cottage Cheese Omlette?

  • Preperation Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking/Baking Time: 10-15 minutes
  • Ready in: 20 minutes

Cottage Cheese Omlette

Ingredients (1 omlette)

  • 100 grams of cottage cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 50 grams ham
  • A handful of grated cheese (25 grams, 14 % fat content)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg whites
  • 10 grams flaxseed
  • Condiments as you like (salt & pepper…)

Cooking Directions

  1. Let’s start with cracking the eggs into a bowl. You should separate the egg yolk of two eggs from the egg whites. If you want to, you can use the yolks from the eggs, too. (Or you can use them for some other dish). Mix the eggs well.
  2. Heat up a pan, sprinkle the flaxseed into it and add the egg mixture.
  3. Now it is time to chop the tomatoes and ham, while the omlette is being cooked. Add these ingredients on one side, once the omelette gets a little bit solid.
  4. Get the cottage cheese and the grated cheese and add it on top of the omelette-ham-tomatoe mixture. Add your favourite condiments and spices. Make sure to spread the cheese on the whole side of the omelette.
  5. Finally it is time to fold the empty side of the omelette onto the side. Cook it until it is well done.
  6. Enjoy your protein-loaded Cottage Cheese Omlette!
