You want to eat a healthy selfmade pizza with as little processing (and calories) as possible? Now, this is a dish you should bookmark. Our delicious spelt-wholemeal pizza might not be totally carbohydrate free, but you can be sure that these carbs are from a healthy source.

There is nothing better than a fresh made pizza out of your own kitchen.

  • Preparation Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking/Baking Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Ready in: 35 minutes

Recipe: Healthy Wholemeal Pizza with Mozzarella and Olive Oil

Ingredients (for 1 pizza)

  • 90 grams spelt-wholemeal flour (or any other wholemeal flour)Healthy Wholemeal Pizza with Mozzarella and Olive Oil
  • 15-170 ml water
  • 1 mozzarella ball ( e.g. fat-reduced)
  • 2 Tsp. olive oil
  • ½ Tsp. salt
  • oregano, black sesame and dried herbs
  • (optional) 10 black olives (without stones)

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven at 200 °C (392 °F). Prepare the backing tray with baking paper).Healthy Wholemeal Pizza with Mozzarella and Olive Oil
  2. Cut the mozzarella cheese in thin slices first and then chop it into smaller pieces.
  3. Cut olives in half (and dispose the core / stones if necessary).
  4. Add the flour to a big bowl and pour in 150 ml water. Use the hand mixer if necessary to make the dough. (use the egg beater if you don’t have a mixer).
  5. Add the oregano, the sesame and your favorite herbs to the dough and mix it well. If your dough gets to runny, just add another tablespoon of whole meal. If it gets to thick, add some water.
  6. Spread the dough on the backing tray (on the parchment). Add the mozzarella and the olive on top. Trickle some olive oil on the pizza and then cook at 220 °C (428 °C) for 25-30 minutes.Healthy Wholemeal Pizza with Mozzarella and Olive Oil

Notes & Recommendations

  • Tip 1: Trickle some olive oil on the parchment, before adding the dough – the pizza won’t get stuck on it as easy as without it.
