Preparing a meal in the oven has a lot of advantages. It is usually less complicated: rinse and clean the vegetables and meat, cut, season and then you put it into the oven. And of course, you don’t have to add a gallon of oil when you cook your meal (which limits calorie density).

Chicken breasts and tomatoes harmonize pretty well. Now add some Mediterranean spices and herbs and you’ve got a delicious (post-workout) meal.

  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking/Baking Time: 40 minutes
  • Ready in: 50 minutes

Recipe: Oven Cooked Tomatoe Chicken


  • 200 grams chicken breastRecipe: Oven Cooked Tomtatoe Chicken
  • 5-6 tomatoes
  • a handful olives (without stones)
  • a few gloves of garlic, peeled
  • rosemary, fresh
  • oregano, dried
  • chili (powder)
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • (optional) some cheese (e.g. parmesan)

Cooking Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 160 °C (320 °C).
  2. Cut the tomatoes in half, slice the olives and clean & dry the chicken breast.
  3. Add all ingredients – except the meat and cheese – into an oiled oven dish. Spread it out evenly and then season it according to your liking.
  4. Now its time to add the chicken breast and a little bit of a tomatoe-herb mixture (dried). Add the oregano and the rosemary, too. You can either add the cheese now of grate it freshly on top of it, when taking out afterwards (and then re-add it for 5 minutes, maybe)
  5. Put the dish for about 40 minutes into the oven.
  6. Serve on a plate. Enjoy your Oven cooked tomatoe chicken.
