Today we’re going to serve a American-Mexican speciality, which will fit nicely into your regular meal plan. This delicious bean burrito with tuna unifies complex carbs with high quality proteins. Viva la Mexico!

  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking/Baking Time: 10-20 minutes
  • Ready in: 30 minutes

Recipe: Tuna Bean Burrito

Ingredients (1 burrito)

  • 1 tin of kidney beansRecipe: Tuna Bean Burrito
  • 1 tin of tuna (in brine)
  • 1 Tsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 sweet pepper
  • 1 small pepperoni
  • 1 small tomatoe
  • 3-4 Tsp chopped salad / veggies
  • hot sauce
  • salt & pepper and your favorite spice blend
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • 2 whole meal tortillas (or lowcarb tortillas)Recipe: Tuna Bean Burrito
  • 1-2 Tsp sour cream

Cooking Directions

  1. First drain the tuna and kidney beans.
  2. Was & cut the pepper, pepperoni, tomatoe and onion.
  3. Cut the salad into thin slices.
  4. Heat up the pan and add some olive oil. Glaze the onion.
  5. Now it is time to add the pepper, pepperoni and tuna. Cook for 4-5 more minutes.
  6. Add the spice blend into the glass of water, mix it up and add it to the pan.
  7. Season with salt, pepper and hot sauce.Recipe: Tuna Bean Burrito
  8. Finally, add the beans into the pan and cook for 7-10 more minutes on medium heat.
  9. Take the pan off the stove and let it cool for a few minutes, before you start adding the mass onto the tortilla. (Tip: Put the tortillas for 1-2 minutes into the microwave to make it warm).
  10. Add some fresh vegetables (salad, tomatoes and sour cream) to add more flavour to your tuna bean burrito.
  11. Enjoy your Tuna Bean Burrito!

Notes & Recommendations

  • Tip 1: You can cook the tortilla without oil in the pan, too – but don’t make it to crispy or else it will break when preparing the burrito.
